Welcome to HENRI Hotel Hamburg Downtown

The HENRI Hotel Hamburg Downtown is located right in the middle between Mönckebergstraße, Hauptbahnhof and Rathausmarkt. The hotel at Bugenhagenstraße 21 is a winking reference to midcentury design. Its 65 studios and suites reflect Hanseatic culture, lived-in hospitality and cosmopolitan flair. The HENRI Hamburg pays homage to the golden age of the Kontorhausviertel.

Moin

True to its Hanseatic roots, the first HENRI Hotel has found its place in Hamburg. The gateway to the world, traditionally the city of merchants, globetrotters and adventurers. In the meantime, however, it has also become home to creative people from the worlds of media, music and fashion, a city of the arts and a center of sports.

Important note

Hamburg is a city that is constantly changing. Construction work is currently taking place on the building opposite our hotel. Therefore, there may be an increased noise level during your stay with us. We ask you to excuse this. Thank you for your understanding!

Seamen's songs rarely ring out in the city center today. Instead, a fresh breeze greets us from the direction of HafenCity.

In the city center, which has always been bustling, the charming seven-story brick building comes into view. A temporary home - right in the middle and quiet at the same time. Not a business or design hotel: simply HENRI! Unobtrusive, urban, stylish in 50s design and inviting beyond compare. A place where every guest immediately feels at home.

Sights around the corner

Hamburg harbor

Do you fancy a special harbor flair? Ferry 62 sails across the Elbe and offers a harbor panorama that can otherwise only be seen on a professional harbor tour.

For the price of an HVV ticket, it goes down the Elbe from Bridge 3 at the Landungsbrücken – past the fish market in the direction of Dockland, Museumshafen and Finkenwerder.

Just as nice: the trip with ferry 73 in the direction of Wilhelmsburg to discover the Veringkanal, the Inselpark or the Energiebunker (only during the week).

Dyke Road

Experience Hamburg's oldest town houses on Nikolaifleet. Here are many restaurants, some of which also offer seating directly on the Fleet. From the Deichstraße it is also not far to the Landungsbrücken, the Speicherstadt and the HafenCity.

Alster

Here the people of Hamburg meet at any time of the year for walking, jogging or in summer for pedal boating or stand-up paddling. The small Binnenalster with the Alster fountain is quickly circled on foot, whereas a walk around the Außenalster takes about 2 hours.

HENRI Breakfast

What type of breakfast are you?

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for me.""A coffee and a croissant - that's all I need."
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for me."

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for me."

Then we recommend the breakfast for 19 € per person in our Kontorküche with various egg dishes, bread and rolls, muesli, sausage, cheese and spreads, as well as various coffee and tea specialties (Mon to Fri 6:30 to 10:00, Sat, Sun, holidays 7:30 to 12:00).

"A coffee and a croissant - that's all I need."

Then our Quick-Breakfast (coffee and croissant) for 4,50 € per person at the bar is just right for you (Mon to Fri at the bar).

The supper

The traditional German dinner consists of bread, homemade dips, veggies and a few variable add-ons in our snack fridge. This tradition dates back to the 1920s, when workers were given hot lunches in factory canteens and therefore no longer needed a hot meal in the evening.

At HENRI we continue this custom. Monday to Thursday from 19:00 to 21:00 we serve everything that belongs to the German evening meal. And that is already included in the room rate.

You still feel like something warm? Try our changing dinner specials for 6 € p.p. - From meatballs to stew we serve everything that is delicious.

Drinks?

Simply take your favorite drink out of the fridge yourself, fill it in and pay later. That's the HENRI principle. But drinks are not only available in the fridge, but also at the bar, for example our changing Drink of the Week for 9,50 €. You can get fresh organic coffee in the living lounge.

Wellness and fitness

Ready for a dose of relaxation?

A small but fine wellness area awaits you on the seventh floor of the former Kontorhaus. Here you can sweat and relax with a view over the roofs of Hamburg's old town all the way to the Elbphilharmonie.

  • Kneipp bath
  • Relaxation room

Bed tax

Sounds almost a bit naughty, doesn't it? ;-) In reality, however, the bed tax is something quite dry and is also called culture and tourism tax in Hamburg for the taxation of paid overnight stays. This means for you that a small part of your overnight stay at HENRI goes to the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. This revenue is intended to benefit tourist, cultural and sports projects.
